Ancient, sacred, mysterious, both familiar and strange, Bagan is one of must-seen places in Myanmar. Apart from revealing temples, awaiting dawn and twilight, ballooning or biking to local villages, traveling to Bagan is also to savor great food.
1. BBQ Harmony
As its name, the restaurant is most well-known for barbecue with different options of various kinds of skewers, including pork, beef, chicken, fish, sea food and vegetables with prices from 1000 – 3000 kyat (in 2015).
Servants here are young men, really friendly and witty. Skewers after selected by diners will be grilled on the spot. Grilled dishes can be accompanies by steamed rice. Dipping sauce here is quite delicious.
2. Queen Restaurant
Queen Restaurant offers food of both Asian and European style from China, Italy, Thailand and Myanmar. Dishes here are cooked pretty quickly, tasty and warm. The menu is fairy diverse with many popular dishes of countries like Beijing roast dusk (or Peking dusk), pasta, pizza, Thai tom yum soup, barbecue, etc. The restaurant’s space is spacious, airy and clean.

4. Golden Myanmar (Myanmar Food House)
It’s near the famous Ananda temple, serving Burmese traditional buffet with a rate of about 3,000 kyat/person. Lemon juice costs 1,500 kyat (in 2015).
A Myanmar’s buffet comprises Burmese traditional dishes cooked from pork, beef, soup and salad. Myanmar food tastes quite like Vietnamese food, but it is greasier and has typical curry-smell.
The Moon is ranked 2nd by TripAdvisor in the list restaurants in Bagan, and found by almost travelers, especially Western ones.
It mainly offer vegetarian dishes, skilfully cooked, suitable for appetite of many people. Space of the restaurant is a garden with shady pergolas, so though sitting here at noon, you also don’t feel unpleasant.
