Thing Yan Festival, also known as Water Festival is the biggest holiday in Myanmar takes place from 13th to 16th April 2012.
The festival is national-wide and very enjoyable.
During this period of time, shopping centers, business are about to close for at least 6 days. Local tour operators mentioned that the holiday this year will be longer as it it finishes by the weekend.
For travelers, please take into your consideration that during this time, all services or goods raise the prices very much from 20 to 80% compare to normal daily price.
Moreover, we should pay attention to temples, pagoda and other business which are supposed to not open for visiting.
The best thing to enjoy this time is : water fun. Be expected to get wet and be ready to make other people wet.
