ActiveTravel Asia – the local travel consultant in Vietnam announces that trekking on the route Ban Khoang – Ta Giang Phinh in Sapa is temporarily forbidden due to insecurity. The ban has been effective since 19th March and there is no information that when this ban ends. The local police just say that when the situation returns to stable, they will inform and let travelers get into.
Face to this ban, our Vietnam travel experts will arrange for trekkers to hike other routes, which not less exotic than the banned one, and make sure the Sapa trek is smooth and still amazing. The trip is roughly not affected much.
The trail Ban Khoang – Ta Giang Phinh is sited northwest of Sapa ward. Ban Khoang village is home to Red Dao ethnic group. It has wild and unspoiled scenery with imposing mountains and breathtaking terraced fields. The furthest area from Sapa town and also the northernmost point of Sapa ward is Ta Giang Phinh valley – the ancient land of Hmong tribe, now resided by both Dao and Hmong ethnics in several small villages dotted along a quiet stream.
